We drove up the road and found the next side street which took us up on top of one the
two "hot spots." Much more steam and smoke seeps out from the barren earth. It was a
pretty amazing and funky sight. We could smell sulpher in the air. We wondered how
healthy it was to be there, but we figured a short stay wouldn't be too bad; still we
didn't stay in the path of the smoke too long. There were other people who stopped by
to visit the site while we were there though. It was a popular stop that day and we
saw a few people we recognized from Knoebels the night before.
