Vacation trip to visit friends on their hobby farm in Minnesota. Includes lots of photos of animals, including emus, a kestrel and a yellow-faced vulture, as well as barn cats and a rather spoiled and lovable dog. There are also trips to the Spam Museum and a tour of the Mayo Clinic and downtown Rochester, MN.

Vacation trip visiting friends in San Diego for 4th of July week.

Trip highlights include:

A desert ramble, visiting the small town of Jacumba Springs, the Desert View Tower I’m In-Ko-Pah, and the metal animal sculptures in Anza Borrego.

Seaside views in La Jolla.

The USS Midway aircraft carrier museum.

A San Diego ghost tour, which also included a ghost-hunting component we weren’t expecting, which was kind of hokey, but really fun in the moment.

And lots of good food and libations.

I got to meet their new dog Banshee, who after her initial barking, calmed down and excepted us as new friends. She’s a really sweet, chill and surprisingly dainty dog for a German Shepherd.

I finally caught up with video editing. Here’s the 2017 Daily Montage Video in all it’s glory, complete with extra pets and card-playing filler, oh and a surprise 4th-quarter knee injury to add to the drama. I took a spill down some porch stairs at my family’s house in the dark and tore a tendon in October.
