For the past few years, my friend Shawn has provided quite the backyard fireworks displays
for The 4th of July and New Year's Eve. It's fun helping him set up the displays, then
watching him set them off. For consumer fireworks, they're quite impressive.
It's hard to get great photos of fireworks, they don't come out in focus, but at the
same time they make for some interesting effects. It was lightly snowing when we started
the show this year. That made for some interesting pictures with the snow flakes looking
like a star field in outer space, and the fireworks looked a bit like nebulas. I got a
couple of decent shots of the bursts, plus some good launches of the rockets too.
