Once again, Matt, and I made the annual pilgrimage to Knoebels Amusement Park
for their Phoenix Phall Phun Phest for a chance to ride their roller coasters.
This year the weather was very grey for the whole weekend. It rained all the
way down to Pennsylvania , but luckily when we got to the park it had slowed down.
It was mostly just a light drizzle for the evening, and it even stopped a couple of
times. So it was only a little damp and cool, but it kept the crowds down, so
that was good. It did mean we didn't get any photos at the park. There weren't
too many people wearing costumes this year to capture anyway.
On Sunday, we headed to Allentown to spend the afternoon at Dorney Park, where
we rode some more coasters and did get a few pictures. On the way there from
Elysburg, we happened to pass by Centralia, a ghost town on top of a burning
coal fire. Of course we stopped to check it out. We also stopped in at the
tourist spot from yesteryear: Roadside America, the world's greatest indoor
minature village.
