I was out in the San Jose area on another business trip. I had Friday afternoon off,
so I did some more exploring. My rental car came with a GPS unit which made it
easier to check out local attractions, and I didn't have to worry about getting lost.
I happened on the auto road to the Lick Observatory
on Mt. Hamilton and gave it a shot. I didn't realize how long and twisty the mountain
road would be. All the turns got a little annoying at times, but it was also a drive
with lots of nice views, so it was well worth it. The observatory was closing when I
got up there, but I got some good pictures walking around the area. The next time I'm
out in the Bay Area, I'll have to try and get back there.
